My "Three Little Pigs"

"This Little Piggy"......."Don't Mess with Me".............and........."Pretty in Pink"  This is my most current version of "The Three Little Pigs."  Man, I just can't stop painting these little guys.  Every time I see a new face, I see it in paint.  They are so damn cute, I still can't believe I'm not a vegetarian!

Sea Creature Paintings

There's something magical that happens when painting on vintage wood.  Let's face it, it already has such beauty in its age and patina.  Sometimes I would just almost prefer to hang the old piece of wood to appreciate it's story in the dents and chips and cracking and peeling paint.  But, well, painting imagery is what I do.  So, I try to compliment the beauty of the antique boards and nover cover too much of it up with "new" paint.  There's a nice balance in these three nautical style paintings of seahorses and a fabulous crab.  All available at the upcoming Wholesale Gallery Show at Market Square.

Artwork for Gallery June 11 & 12, 2012 Philadelphia Expo Center

I love painterly paintings.  You know, the paintings with all the fabulous brushwork and lack of tight detail.  When I work on landscapes, it's all about atmosphere and paint.  Loose brushwork and hints of warm light rule in these original oil paintings on canvas.

Cool Fish

Ever since my first experience snorkeling in the Virgin Islands in 2008, I've been obsessed with painting underwater creatures.  It's incredible what lives down in the deep depths of the ocean, creatures we would never know existed.  I started purchasing all kinds of reference to find and identify some of the fish I've seen personally, and in the process I've discovered some really unusual creatures.  Many of my paintings are replicas of the real deal, but more and more they become my own fantasy creation based on only tidbits of fact.

Revisiting Some Old Friends

"Friends Come in all Shapes and Sizes"
This original oil measures 30x48 inches. Notice the tiny mouse hanging out on the plums.

Revisiting Some Old Friends

I just adore this guy. He is painted in oils on canvas and measures 4x6 feet. I've had him for a while, and he seems like a buddy of mine. Check out the upclose shot of his berries! Yummie.
