Schreech Owl Chick

I'm suddenly feeling the need to paint baby owls.  Soooooooooooo cute!  I have six more "in the works."

Acrylic Flower Paintings on Vintage Ephemera

I just adore the lovely background papers on these delicate floral paintings.  These are pages taken from a late 19th Century Furniture Design Book.   I like to give viewers something to explore after the initial painting itself.   Using old pages from antique books, handwritten letters and journal pages and vintage invoices adds a second layer of interest.  Originally painted as 6"x6".

Salmon Painting on Vintage Imagery

I just love the colors of salmon, so rich.

Mariposa: A Bit of Reality

"Taking Artistic License" is a term I've heard often over the years which refers to the luxury an artist like myself has in taking a bit of reality and making it my own.  For example, these moths and butterflies are similar to ones that actually exist, but I've taken artistic license and changed the colors and designs.  Nature gives us wonderful "information" to use when creating.  These mixed media paintings were done on vintage papers from France!  So much fun.  Enjoy.
